I was sitting at a local cruise-in earlier this season at a Burger King when a gentleman walked up to look at my '67 4-4-2. He said he had actually been going through the drive-thru when he saw my car and he just had to pull out of line to check it out because it brought back so many memories. He then proceeded to tell me how his step-father, Dallas Verble, had been a well known drag racer for Carlson Oldsmobile in St. Louis, and had raced throughout the Midwest in the 60's and 70's. He also told me his step-father at one time held an American Hot Rod Association World Record in the 1/8-mile Super Stock class that was set at a racetrack in St. Louis in 1966. Well you know how stories go at car events, I was taking everything he said with a grain of salt. Later that evening he texted me these pics of his Dad's cars sponsored by Carlson Oldsmobile, and a pic of his Dad's World Record.
