Olds owners - Post your ugly mugs

Sorry, Stacey, much as I'd like to, I don't post any personally identifying information on open web sites. There is exactly one photograph of me posted on line, and I've tried to get my employer to take it down. This has nothing whatsoever to do with this site or the people on it, but rather with the internet as a whole. I don't do FaceBook or any other social networks either, and have no online address books. There are no photos of my family on line (though my wife as her picture up on sites related to her business). The reason I will not post my face, even without my name, is that within a few years facial identification software will become available to everyone for searches across the web (as it has been for a few years within Apple's photo software on local computers), and the idea that someone (or some marketing 'bot) could do a search on my face and turn me up all over the place in unappealing to me.

I'll bite, Here's a picture of me on my bike.
If i uploaded a picture of myself 25 years ago, then i wouldn't exist
And yes, it's a 1983 Honda, all original just like it came from the factory.

Are you kidding? No way I'd post a photo of myself. I don't even sign my name to my posts like many people do, not even my first name.
Heck, half the people who frequent this site want to beat the crap out of me. The other half will soon, they just don't know it yet, but they will when I get around to correcting their spelling or something like that.
Why would I make it easier for them to identify me walking down the street?!!

Well, it would be hard to OVERestimate it in my case .
I think it might be time to upgrade your computer, Aces !
I've got no choice - it's got no roof !
Exactly - so there's a Rosetta Stone out there that links your name and your image, and from there, it's a quick web scan to a painfully detailed profile.
Remember, the web can be forever - it's not right now that I'm worried about, it's the thing that I haven't thought of yet, a few years down the road.
And you are implying what, exactly, Paisano?

I'm not posting until there's someone fatter and balder than me....Homer is getting close.
But hey, I've got something in common with the Dos Equis guy....I'm the LEAST interesting man in the world.

"WJ has purchased the car he won his first NHRA P/S race with. I believe he won Englishtown in 79 with an Olds Firenza . I was by the shop a while back and saw this piece of history."

Yep,that's my buddy WJ and the car? that's the Olds Firenza he won his first NHRA P/S race with. He bought it back from a guys estate and has plans to restore it someday. I go by WJ's shop anytime I'm in Atlanta and he's in town. He's one funny guy,I've had many conversations and laughs with him.

You know that whole discussion about posting your stuff all over the internet? Well...does this sound familiar, CHOP?

Well, what's that supposed to mean? I guess this is the second time I've posted that picture and if that means "posting stuff all over the internet",so be it.

By the way, this is a picture of my two sons and I with my dad. PS...what is the significance of the car pictured?
It is now Pepper Gray Metallic!

I believe you misunderstood what I was saying. The guys in the beginning of this thread were talking about keeping their identity safe by not posting pictures on the internet. I was just saying that they have a valid point seeing as how a simple search and I found your post on another site. I am not worried about posting my picture on here or anywhere, but I see why others might be.

OH,OK,I didn't understand what you meant, sorry. I posted the significance above,it's the Olds Firenza WJ won his first NHRA P/S race with. With you calling me by my almost lifelong nickname,I thought we might have crossed paths somewhere.LOL. I guess some are paranoid about their identity but I'm not really worried about it too much myself. Thank you for your service to our country.
