olds 350 HP upgrades
Good morning, looking for some advice on adding hp & more torque to an olds 350, I own a 67 cutlass supreme that has a 350/400 set up existing not original 330 that has been rebuilt about 1 k miles ago by previous owner, I have added long tube headers and edelbrock 650 carb. I am in the process of adding Edelbrock 60519 heads 77cc chamber 188 cc intake, 7111 performer RPM intake manifold, and 2152 cam/lifter kit W/ duration 288/298 and lift .472/.496 . I also am going to address stall and gearing (tall gears) next spring after stacking some more funds up. like most I want to strike a balance between strong torque and strong power band in upper range and still be a car that has every day drive ability. She runs pretty strong right now but just want a little more out of her. Any thoughts or suggestions?
Thanks, Marty

Jmo "but" find a 403 Olds short block for your starting point. All 350 stuff blocks on, except head bolts are 1/2" instead off the 350's 7/16" head bolts so the aluminum heads holes must be drilled. No big deal. Fifty plus cubic inches and more torque. This is my opinion for every day driver.

Marty, I think the converter and gears should be first, not last. The pretty Edelbrock graph looks good, but thats also not with your setup. After spending that much money, I think you'll be disappointed in the performance of the car. The dyno doesn't have a low stall converter and high gears holding the motor back.
.....Just my two cents worth.

What compression ratio are you currently at? Those heads have much larger chambers than typical small block heads and you’ll definitely want to compensate for that.

I have decided to shelf the heads for now, going to move forward W/cam which is a step above an RV cam I think and upgrade the intake and then address stall and rear end gear ratio, BTW what is the stock gearing on a 67 olds cutlass differential ?

A good chance it's 3.08 rear like mine

Ditch the edelbrock carb (650 cfm) and go back to the qjet (750 cfm). If you want to put many hi-way miles on it don't go with too steep a rear gear unless you want to get an overdrive trans. Cruising at 4000 rpm gets old real quick!
