The Old gals got spunk
You may not believe this but I swear it's true. In the almost 5 years I have owned the 56 Super 88 I have never put my foot in to it, my need for speed days are behind me and I typically drive her like a baby !! and I have always been fine with that but I decided tonight to take her for a spin just to keep her juices flowing and for some reason I got the proverbial hair up my *** and decided to see what she had, I hit the gas and the G-78-15 Coker wide whites broke loose with a pronounced bark and and away we went !! the Flow Masters (which I hate ) started to rapp as first gear was extended past what I'm used to and 2nd gear came in and I had to shut her down as we approached the next light. Now I know she aint no race car but I was quite impressed the 324 4bbl and Jet away trans really came to life !! when I pulled away from the second light she returned to the gentle giant she always is with not even a hint of what I just did to her.
Probably wont do it again but I have to admit that sliver of a return yo my younger days was quite fun. THE OLD GALS GOT SOME SPUNK !!!

I miss the early years of Jay Leno's Garage where he would do some great burnouts. I can't find the one in which he describes that his wife asks him why he does the burnouts and he says "I do it for the kids honey" and he gives a wink, wink.
I think he stopped doing them because of insurance and legal purposes. Although not an olds and I'm not a fan of this guy, the car is really cool.
