[QUOTE=edzolz;682414]This is directly from Gene Crowdis and Brad Bishop who is the editor of the JWO.

Why are you posting it, if it's directly from Gene + Brad? It's second hand info.

Neither one posted because I wanted to get first hand knowledge of why Jerry had to pay out his own pocket. The reply is a direct cut and paste from the e-mail I got back from Gene. Seems like the situation has been presented to meet the criteria that someone wanted to present, not as the facts really are. I am a former business owner, retired engineer, and if my accountant had paid for something without an invoice, they would have been fired. I don't know of any business that has the number of employees that the OCA has members that pay without an invoice.

I don't blame either of them for not posting here. All they ever do is get flamed and called all sorts of names that neither deserve. After my thirty years are up, I am going to be like Gene, gone like the wild goose in winter. I'm sorry Gene isn't going to stick it out. He has been a member of OCA the same number of years as me (member number 017262). Things like this is why I don't go to the Nationals anymore. Had been going since 1989 but never again.

I don't know any of the OCA leaders personally, nor any of the people posting here personally. But my observation is that the biggest troublemaker and person with the most unreasonable opinions is "66-3X2 442". If you're trying to convince anyone to take your side, you're only making things worse. I'm not voting, because I don't know anyone or their qualifications. But if I were voting, it wouldn't be for your candidates -- simply because you're supporting them.

In contrast, everything I've seen posted by the people you claim are ruining the club seems perfectly reasonable to me.

I've talked to Mike personally on a number of occasions and he's probably one of the most knowledgeable 66 guys out there. His positions on the events that led up to this OCA mess are based in fact and backed up by many others that I know personally. The fact that he chooses to speak out should be applauded. I along with many others in the Northeast chose to quit the OCA rather continue to pay money to an organization that had no control over the $250,000 CD. Mike tried to get me to stay. Maybe I should have but what's done is done. I won't give money to an organization where that much money is ("was" now, I understand) controlled by one person.

And BTW, when I quit I sent an email to Jerry Wilson, Bonnie Fochi, Steve Mestad, and Gene Crowdis. Jerry Wilson and Steve Mestad were the only ones that took the time to respond. Jerry Wilson wrote a very long and heartfelt response. If I was still in the OCA I'd vote for him in a second.

Sorry you feel that way and I'm not trying to convince anybody who to vote for. By contrast I give what I know to be the truth and my opinion is mine and mine alone. I'm a 31 year member of the OCA and have never been involved in club politics until this situation came up. I really hate even having to talk about this but somebody has to let people know who are concerned about it. If me being outspoken about this makes me the bad guy,so be it. I'll look anybody in the eye and discuss it when and if they want. I've got friends all over the USA that I have met, bought & sold parts/cars to and I have a good reputation. There were 1100 +- signatures for the recall of Gene Crowdis,do you think I convinced all of those people to sign it? if you do,I have more influence than I'll ever need. Do you think those 1100 members just pulled some BS out of the air just to get him out of office? If I'm a trouble maker, the woods is full of them.

Sorry, I don't have e-mails from anyone on this subject. However I did talk to Gene at length about this problem and everything I would put here would be second hand info. I can truly say the problems with that issue can be traced back to one individual that I will not name.

Not trying to revise history, just pointing out how Crowdis does business. You will notice that Crowdis by his own admission only wrote checks on the 7th & the 22nd. Let's say the invoice came in on the 23rd,that means rather than do the right thing and pay the invoice,he chooses to be the contrary guy he has been for the last 4 years and won't pay the invoice till the 7th. That my friend is being a total jerk neglecting his duties as the OCA treasurer. By doing this he causes somebody to have to take up his slack and pay the invoice so the JWO is not delayed. He even failed to carry the OCA checkbook to the Olds Nats one year citing he didn't want to spend his time @ the Nats writing checks. A very lame excuse for somebody who professes to love the OCA so much. All of his actions have coincided with the defeat of Pat Yancy as President and the election of Jerry Wilson. You can defend him all you like but the facts are he's been a total jerk about his duties since the election. If you really want to know what this is all about,I have a letter from Pat Yancy admitting to me that he thinks the election was stolen from him. That's right, stolen from him and he can't get over it. So Crowdis appears to have taken on the task of making things as difficult as possible for Wilson and others. The Vice President even got sick of it and quit and that means Yancy/Crowdis won that one but hell would have froze over before I let two guys like that run me off. I may catch hell from some of you for telling it like it is but I'm not afraid,I stand by my statements. I'll say it one more time,I don't care who runs the OCA as long as it's run in the best interest of the membership.

About a year ago when the recall emails were flying around I got a reply from dave Consoli in which he characterized Crowdis as rigid and uncooperative. Consoli also sent an email to members that was writen from crowdis. Crowdis writes he isn't bringing the checkbook to the National meet because he is on vacation and wont limit his activities. Ill say this for the guy at least he doesn't hide that he is a jerk. That weasel yancy still hiding in the shadows causing trouble then want us to think everything is Consoli's doing and he and Wilson are the bad guys and he is a victim. I thought they were voting to toss these guys?

So someone other than the treasurer was responsible for the financial compilation?

Funny how you don't have any emails on this subject.

This could get interesting.

The real problem is that David Consoli does not want to run for President, and although I have not spoken to Steve Mestad about running for treasurer, I doubt he wants the position either.
I think this is an attempt by the "other guys" to split our votes. Lets stick with Jerry Wilson and vote in some new Zone Directors to replace the ones that keep the OCA from getting better,
Guys like Lynn Shipley for treasurer and Ralph Gaines and Gene Bossaler for Zone Directors, once we have a good set of BODs, you watch how fast the OCA gets healthy.
Please spread the word about the write in votes.

My suggestions are:
President--Jerry Wilson
Vice President--Karl Sup
Secretary--Dalene DeLong
Treasurer--Lynn Shipley
South Central Zone Directors--Ralph Gaines, Gene Bossaller

These are real "car guys" not politicians, and will work for the best interests of the club.

If the write in votes are split among a number of candidates, a write in for Yancy will be a very real possibility.

What you guys who are naming names (who you want people to vote for / who you don't want them to vote for in your club) REALLY need to do is put your money where your mouth is and take ads out on this site.

Members in the Eastern Great Lakes (MI, IN, OH, KY, ON) might want to read the top of p. 11 in JWO and see who nominated their candidates.

Saw that. I find it interesting that someone from the South Central Zone (first name rhymes with hat, as in cowboy) nominated someone for the Eastern Great Lakes Zone, but not someone for his own zone.

I will recommend Eastern Great Lakes Zone members vote for:

President--Jerry Wilson
Vice President--Karl Sup
Secretary--Dalene DeLong
Treasurer--Lynn Shipley
Eastern Great Lakes Zone Directors--Vicki May, Ken Nicholas

I am posting this for Dan Haggerty....
I am starting a write in campaign to be considered for the second OCA Pacific Southwest Zone Director position that is open. see details below:
Dan Haggerty - Pacific Southwest Zone Director - I have been a member of OCA for 30 years and purchased my first 1949 Oldsmobile in high school. I now own a 1949 Olds Coupe street rod and a 1957 Golden Rocket 88 2Dr Holiday. My previous club experience has been the President of the Northern California (Nor Cal Olds Club) Chapter of OCA, 2011 OCA Nationals Chairman, and presently Nor Cal Olds Club Treasurer and Membership Chairman. If elected, I will represent the members of the Pacific Southwest Zone, help steer OCA toward the benefit of all members, further the Oldsmobile Car Legacy of a rewarding hobby and fun family organization for all members. I would appreciate your vote so that I can help steer OCA into a bright future that all members can enjoy and be proud to be members.

I said there was another person that was responsible for the problems with the sigs on the CD. There was nothing wrong with the financial compilation, only in the minds of those not versed in accounting methods was there a problem.

Beings you have the inside scoop from Crowdis, could you get him to explain why he put Yancy on the CD? This pretty much sums up his motives because why would he put somebody who wasn't an OCA officer on the CD & comittee? That's asking for trouble and trouble he got. Granted he had the authority to put people on the finance committee but my goodness, that's throwing gas on the fire. He complains how he's been treated but in all reality,he's his own worst enemy. Another thing,I have it on good authority from former board members who were there when Yancy was President and Crowdis didn't have a problem writing checks anytime, not just the 7th & 22nd. I'm waiting to hear these explanations.

From David Consoli
Dear fellow OCA members,
In recent days there has been some wild speculation that I am a write in candidate for OCA president. I assure you I have done everything humanly possible to discourage these sort of rumors. I understand that the ballot as presently constituted has left members scrambling to fill vacancies with write in candidates. Writing in David Consoli as OCA president is simply wishful thinking. I urge you not to waste your vote on me. I have done everything I possibly could to start the healing process and usher in new and fresh faces to the board that will represent the members, not self serving agendas.
There have been posts and emails circulated in which recommendations for vacancies have been offered. I strongly suggest that members in the Atlantic Northeast zone vote Sal Cerrone for their zone director. Sal has done wonderful things for his western NY chapter and will represent the best interests of the members here in the northeast and I am certain Sal will work well with Al Bouney.
I would like to apologize to the members of the OCA. My motives were to stop the horrendous behavior of some of my colleagues on the board. Not perpetuate hate in the club. This email speculation and accusations have gone overboard and has lasted way to long. I have and never will endorse hateful name calling and accusations. If you recall there have been more than a few instances when I have denounced the Crowdis, Yancey and Konsmo bashing. Furthermore, I have always characterized what was sent to my family as coming from "Yancey supporters". I have never said that Mr. Yancey or his wife sent anything to me. If others have stated that he is responsible, that's on them and Mr. Yancey can address them directly.
In closing I would like to say I am not sure what else I can to for this organization to move forward. It is in your hands now. It is your responsibility to vote. Please do so. I will see you all in Cincinnati when I address the board for our 6.20 proceedings.
Best Regards,
David Consoli
OCA #038317

This ends any speculation on his accepting the job if elected. A vote for David is a wasted vote-period.

First, tell me who was at fault for the sig so we all know the truth.

The financial compilation had two line items for 250 k.

If it wasnt a mistake , the OCA has 500k?

Tell me which it is? A mistake or I misread and the OCA has 500k.

You're not going to get an explanation because he would have to admit the financial report was in error. As we all know the treasurer doesn't make mistakes or cause havoc,it's all of us who want to see the OCA get back to where it needs to be that's the problem.

I spoke with Marsha Nicholas this evening, the attempt to delay the voting ballot has for sure failed.
I will make an effort here to share with other OCA members what I have learned lately.
First off because of the lack of Candidates on the ballot and per "Roberts Rules" the OCA has decided
to allow "write in candidates" for the election.
On your OCA ballot you simply cross out the words "no candidate"in the box and write in the name of the person who is your choice for that position right below that and then check the member box to the left, this is how to write in a candidate.
This also will work where there is only one candidate running.
I have been asked to offer these recommendations to the general membership
President- Jerry Wilson
Treasurer- Lynn Shipley
So.Central Zone-Ralph Gaines
So.Central Zone- Gene Bossaler
Vote only for the Zone director candidates depending on what zone you live in.
I am sure others will step up and offer their services, so please check back and see who else will be added to this list, also please help forward this information to other OCA members that may not have access to the internet or this forum.
Thank You

You might want to read the 2013 financial statement in JWO. The $250K CD amount was listed in two different areas. It makes it appear that there's $500K in assets. That's what Pete is referring to and if Crowdis can take time to respond to the printing/mailing invoice issue but will not answer the question Pete has asked. If you're in the NTOC and a friend of Gene's,I know it's hard to see him get beat up over this. This isn't any fun with the way this has gone down but the OCA is in a mess right now and believe it or not,we're just trying to get it back on track. I take no personal joy in talking about this situation but the word has got to get out about what/who has been causing the havoc. Myself and others have not accused Gene of anything illegal and I believe he's a good man,I really do but his actions have caused a lot of these problems. This will soon be over one way or the other and we will all be glad when it is.

I'm well aware of the 2013 Report, apparently a mistake was made when compiling the report for the printer. You're beating a dead horse on this issue.

No,a mistake was not made for the printer,a mistake was made in the OCA financial report. If you want to keep defending his actions, fine with me.

Apparently ? Or actually?

Apparently would suggest to me you dont know for sure.

The printer modified the financial complilation?

If edz has the desire and ability to provide clarity to certain issues directly from those involved, why not an issue i have keen interest in?

Its an unanswered question and to continue to ask the question is not beating a dead horse. Its a quest for the truth. Dont twist into something else.

With such a keen interest in an old financial report done by a volunteer treasurer why don't you call him and ask......?.

Oh,I see see,he's a volunteer and that excuses a mistake or his actions. I'll say one thing for his friends in the NTOC,they will go to the mat for him. I do the same thing for my friends when they are in the right but when they go off the reservation,I will not defend them.

Because edz so kindly and willingly posted information from the source to clear up confusion on a different matter, why couldn't edz do this same on this matter?

And now that you have inserted yourself.

Apparently or actually a mistake by the printer? Why don't you call and ask? Or you can live with apparently and not care whether its the truth ?

I have no direct info on this matter, however, it seems to me you guys that are so pro OCA politics maybe you should run for write in votes. That way the OCA's problems will magically disappear if you happen to be elected. I don't know the names of those that are in this dog fight except for the sign on names, otherwise you would get my vote.
