NOS Cruise 68-69

I know that this could be posted in the for sale section, but I wanted to put it in this forum so as many of you could see it as possible in case you wanted it, or know someone who wants an NOS cruise setup for their 68/69 Cutlass. The auction says it's also for 70, but that's not right because the dash switch is different for 70 and so is the transducer. Anyway, this is something you don't see everyday. The price is pretty high, but if I had a 68/69, I'd be willing to part the $$ on this one. Might have to belt tighten a little to afford it, but what the heck....

I agree.

Those NOS-only guys live for this stuff.
Not a bad deal really, just paying somebody to store it and keep it safe for 40 years would cost you way more than that, at least that's how I would justify the purchase.
If you could find all those pieces parts to cobble one together you'd probably end up spending that much by the time all was said and done too.

is the transducer the the item in the third picture - the metal can that the vacuum line feeds?

I think it is, but I'm not 100%. Kind of looks like the one they started putting in the 78+ models doesn't it? Its not the same as the ones you'll find in 1970-1977.

That's the vacuum servo in the third picture, it's the correct one.
The transducer is the brains unit attached to the inner fender bracket.

The 1970-71 servo looked like a bellows and was all rubber with metal end plates, that one for sale does look more like the later units.

thanks, I am going to check what mine looks like as I have cruise on my car - its pretty funny - almost irritating - set it for 55 and it stays there for a moment then goes down to 50 and then zooms back up to 55 and slowly declines, not very consistent but still a neat option - I can't beleive it would be worth more than a few hundred bucks though.
