Nite Watch

Just was wondering if this item was a factory installed item or dealer installed option, as my 1970 442 has it. i don't recall seeing another one installed on a 442. i;m also the second owner of this car bought it in 1978.

Yes, it's a factory or dealer installed option. Option code T81 Headlamp Off - Delay Control. A whopping huge 12.64 option at the time.

Was that the one that was 'triggered' off the oil pressure switch?

Yes, but that's over $70 in today's money. Just for a headlight delay, with no other features.

I wish buddy. I bought one NOS and you don't want to know, but it was waaayy more than 70.00

The Packrat on this site (not Oldspackrat) has an NOS unit for sale still He originally wanted 300 shipped to your door, but is now open to reasonable offers via PM: https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums...tml#post345710

Only difference between this kit and the one for the Cutlass is where the 'on/off' switch goes. On the Cutlass it mounts down below the lower left dash next to the T44 hood lock.

I know that member MY442 has a 70 442 that came with that option. If I remember correctly, you could not get a rally pac with the nightwatch option. He would know better than me,so maybe he will chime in.

That is what the original option list says but I'm sure you could make both work

This was discussed not long ago. The SPECS booklet does say that rallye -pac and nite watch are not compatible. But, I'm sure that where there's a will, there's a way...
