Question New member

First message; i am rebuilding a 1970 442 with a 455 cu ingine. My question is; my car has roll-up windows in front and electric rear windows!, has anyone else found this before? Yes its from the factory. Thanks, simpleman

Welcome aboard.
Love to see some pics of your project.

re: Manual front and power read windows? Nope, never seen that. What I suspect is a previous owner got hit on both sides and the fastest (easiest) fix was simply to install a door with manual windows. Olds would never release a car like that from the factory - it was either all manual or all power windows.

EDIT: when you find the PW harness you'll probably find the lead for the front windows.

Welcome to the site....Or the power windows in the front gave out and previous owner converted them to manual. Quite the conversation piece if they are from the factory tho. Post some pictures of your car when you get a chance.

Welcome to CO. Maybe check in the doors for power window wires . Hopefully if there is no documentation of split system, at least you may be able to put power window parts in the doors and match the back. If wires are there check that they work.

No it isn't. The most likely reason is that someone replaced the doors and didn't bother to transfer the power window mechanisms.
