nervous :/

Has anyone out there let AAMCO rebuild a transmission? My dad let them work on his from his 85 regal but that was in the 90's. I'm thinking about letting them rebuild my from my 85 delta 88. Any experiences?! Thanks!

I haven't used them since the 80's... They did ok back then on stock transmissions. Check the BBB on the particular shop your thinking about using. As in any franchise company there are good and bad ones.

That is a good point on checking the BBB for the local shop you use. Very valid.

As with any franchise, it's not the franchise itself, it's the individual operator and the people he employs who make the difference in a reputable shop and a hustle.

I don't know where you are located. If you are in the Dallas area. go see Jeff at Plano Transmission. None better and more honest anywhere in the country.

Yes, if you give your location another member from the area may be able to chime in with a recommendation. Aamco doesn't have the best reputation in these parts, but as has been pointed out, quality of workmanship will depend on the individual franchise.
