Yes it's a correct original color. Iridescent is a type of metallic. I had a 1972 Cutlass Supreme in that color. It's gorgeous!

You're welcome. To mix this color today you need to talk to a paint supplier or body shop to see if it's possible.

1972 Oldsmobile's (officially): "antique pewter metallic" paint code "18" (WA4231)
is not the identical color/shade as
1967 Oldsmobile's (officially): "antique pewter metallic" paint code "V" (WA3592)

I don't know if it is a copyright issue, but different paint manufacturers use metallic / iridescent / poly to describe their metallic paint offerings

in 1967 GM was using lacquer (was this the same in '72?) - anyway, paint materials have changed drastically in the past 50 years, you will need a modern equivalent and its "closeness" to the original color will depend on how much time/effort you and/or a painter/paint professional is willing to put in on your project

I not concerned about having the original color, it's a clone, so i dont care, but i do love the color in the above pic and i just want to get a close to that as possible.

so when you talk about 1972 or 1967 will there be much difference in the shade?

i'll do some research, but just felt inclined to ask since you seem to have good knowledge

thx
