My daughter made coasters

My grade 9 daughter surprised me today with 3 coasters. Planning to keep them in the garage and use them while having a cold one. She pulled the images while online. Pretty cool and cheers to Chloe! Proud Dad😎

They really do. I'm nervous to use them but she assumed me they are stain proof. Al

Fantastic idea for a young person who apparently knows what her Dad likes... Entrepreneurial minds can do great things...

She's blushing as I read your comments aloud. Good to see the girls going into classes like wood working. Her future husband is going to hear "that's not how I was taught!"

I don't know if she may run into copy right infringements at some point but if she likes it & can get the costs & prices figured out, I'd say go for it! I've been selling one thing or another since my sophomore year in high school. I would buy large quantities of candy bars, jolly ranchers, gum *****, & sweet tarts & sell them during the school day. Before I got busted by the principle I made over $900.00 in about 4 months & that was in 1985 dollars. I figure that is about $2000.00 in todays money.

73 T/A,67 442, and 65 Vette if possible.

Thumbs up

I'd be interested in one or more with the early "Rocket 88" logo. They look really nice.

You comments are pretty awesome and that's what makes this site so much fun to part of. She's very flattered by everyone chiming in. It's the end of her school year so don't think much is going to happen. However I think ideas are running through her head for her grade 10 year starting in the fall. It may be that she will be able to do a few runs but other than shipping no money will be changing hands. We will take this topic up in the fall. Her teacher has a soft spot for our hobby so expect something to happen. 👍Al

Btw, the rocket emblem is my favourite too. I have a 69 Dodge Superbee. Sorry for the cross over!

If you are keeping a waiting list, I'd like to be added! These look great and I'd like to support her entrepreneurial talent!

I like the rocket one, but I'd like the boarder she did on the Super bee. Al, Packrat is right, I'd look into getting her a CNC machine and get her rolling. Hopefully she can make some coin before the copyright infringement kicks in or better yet get permission. I can't think of a better way to teach someone about responsibilities by way of a small business.

If she does go for it, I'll take a set in 442 as well. And I'll get the word out & see if anyone else wants other brands. You can stain them different colors too. Good luck.

She had her last day of school yesterday so I'm afraid it will all have to wait till the fall. The kid is pretty talented though. She made her mom a beautiful divided tea box that I honestly felt would pull at least $250 at a craft fair. Dove tailed edges all laminated together. Really nice. Way better than what I was making at that age. I hope she continues in the fall. She has a real knack for it. Her grandfather (my dad) was blown away. I might ask her to make a box for all my carb jets and metering rods. Anyways appreciate all your thoughtful comments. Al

Me too. I'd like a 442 as well with the Superbee circle around it. I need to get her teacher up to look at the cars to get him on side. Funny she referred to our W30 covertible as a Cutlass ( almost sacrilegious lol) and her teacher cut her off and said that's nothing less than a 442 lol. No I'll will toward a Cutlass. I love them all. 😎
