My car lighter 70-442 will not heat up. The fuse is fine

Remove the wood grain bezel around the instruments, there are 2 screws in the top of it & 2 below the ledge. Remove the clock, clock blank plate, tachometer or whatever is in the right side hole. Look in the hole & find an orange wire with a straight female end. Reach in & feel the male end of the lighter socket. Reattach the two & you should be good to go. All of this is assuming no one has cut that wire for some reason.

Yes they have a long tubular nut that screws onto the back of the lighter element. You'll have to put your hand through the clock hole and put your other hand with two fingers inside the lighter socket and just unscrew the nut. Usually they are not too hard to remove.
