Was My Brother's Car Cool in '77?

Thought I would start a fun thread since I came across this picture. Back in 1977 my 66 Delta was stolen and crashed. The junkyard only had a 66 Sfire in the yard so we swapped the front end and body chrome onto the Delta. My brother did the primer and flames and I never could decide if it was cool or clownish!?

It was cool.

Not sure about the flames, but the rest of the car would have made up for it.

And, c'mon, convertibles were always cool.

Think of the junk Detroit was putting out at the time. Cordoba's, Pacers, etc. Heck yes it was cool in '77.

IMO there is something about a convertible that gives you some more leeway with the creativity.
It was a rat rod before they existed. You were cutting edge.

I'd have to say back then there were many cool cars running around. Now the competition has depleted and it would win many more fans.

Car itself-Yes
Paint job-No
If it were given a nice coat of black paint, then yes. To me, a cool car has to be a little conservative, so no flames.

Well his car was cooler than the rest of those cars, including what looks like an Olds right behind it . That picture certainly brings back memories.

In my small town high school if you had a car at all it was automatically cool. Early 60's

One of those cars that Olds should have built, 66 starfire 'vert. Learned to drive in an orig. 66 that my dad bought new.

Mike. I'm very interested in that avatar car also. Curiosity is getting me.
