Muncie 4 Speed Date Code

Yes I am a newbie but have a question - duplicate post from newbie thread. I have a 1970 W-30 with a 4-speed marked POS21B. Came out of a W-30 with a trim tag marked 11D. It is a very tight delivery date tranny to body but is it possible ? My thoughts are the car would have had to have been assembled the day after Thanksgiving 1969 ? Any insight and opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Yes, It codes out as follows:

P = Muncie
0 = 1970 model year
S = November (1969)
21 = 21st day of Nov
B = M21 gear set

not sure but
wouldn't a Nov 21,1970 Trans date code be for a 1971 car ?
because roughly July 1, 1970 is when they start the 1971's being built +- (?)

Cosmic, as I updated in the other thread, Muncie documented the MODEL year on their trans, not the MANUFACTURE year. Though the two "sync'd up" in the Jan - July dates. The July/August built units will have the next MODEL year's date on them.

X2. so many people goof this up and think an original transmission is wrong because they think the year is wrong.
