Can anyone tell me or help me rig my muffler up from dragging? I am currently waiting in the tailpipe to come. Thanks 1978 Oldsmobile delta 88

I used 2 wire hangers to rig. But my muffler is to heavy for the hangers. I will try to get a clamp and try. I may just put the new muffler I got on and get it over w/. Thanks

I meant a real exhaust hanger, not a coat hanger, although it can work in a pinch.

I understand that, the OP said that he has no tailpipe at the moment, if understood correctly he was looking for a temporary solution.

Yeah just something temporary. Is there a diagram or any part numbers I should get? My tailpipe is gone I may get some flex pipe from autozone and use it as a tailpipe. Any suggestions? Thanks

It's not rocket science. Get a universal exhaust hanger, the appropriate sized clamp, and find a bolt, hole, or drill a hole to bolt the hanger to. If your tailpipe rusted off, the mid probably isn't far behind.

Or you can just take it to a muffler shop and get it replaced. By the time you spend money on your temp fix and then fix it right, you can just it repaired for about the same money.

I still think you're gonna get tired of that Flowmaster quick. See if the exhaust shop has a good turbo muffler that will give you a good rumble instead of a bleat.

Ok. Glasspack muffler? Or just explain to them the doing i want? What do you recommend for a single exhaust that still has a nice rumble? Thanks.

Instead of trying to make a single exhaust sound better, which it won't. Make your stereo sound better.

Who said glasspack? Dog, you need to find a good exhaust shop that won't rake you over the coals. Have them do a cheap dual with turbo mufflers, and you're done. Unless you're super crafty and can bang it out...otherwise don't worry about it.
