motor paint question ?

motor paint question ?

hi, first time posting. I have 1970 442 W30 4sp. i have been cleaning the old grease off the motor ! to my surprise the water pump is silver,timing cover blue,block gold,heads blue,oil fill tube blue ? i now this is not correct. is it posible the car was dealer show car !

Well, if you have the 455 block in there, it would be blue. But, i guess if you posted some pictures, VIN numbers, Cowl tags and etc. The folks on here will be able to help you out to see if it's an "actual" w-30 with the original 455 or 350 or whatever it came with.

well i don;t no how to post pictures.so here are the block #30m290523, cowl tag,st70 34487lan391214 bdy tr940 14 14 pnt 03b. also harmonic balancer is black only 60,000 miles on her.it has a 455 bb.correct carb ,dist. ,f heads,alum manifold,red wheel wells.391rear bench seat

That's a gold block alright (with a bit of blue overspray around the oil fill tube).

I can't tell from those angles whether it's a big or a small block, but maybe one of the experts can.

Check to see whether the number portion of the engine number on the pad indicated in the photo matches the number portion of your VIN.

That casting # shows it to be a 1968-72 455.

Are you sure that you don't just have a parts of different engines bolted together in there! A lot of things can happen in over 30 years.

the motor block is original it steel has the A stamp on the pistons and the vin # match motor #
