The mother of all road trips(the beginning)

Are you going through the Tetons? They're pretty and there's a nice church at the south end that has a window you can see them all through behind the altar.
How's your gas mileage doing? She take premium?

Super long day today
Yes we wen't through the Tetons and they were awesome beyond belief, I will post pictures pictures later.
The car is doing especially good at any altitude, only problem today was the generator started to squall so I lubed the oil cup and all was well. It is brand new and I hope there is nothing permanent going wrong with it. I had a problem with one just like it (same manufacturer) that had a bad bearing new in the box, it squealed on the first revolution. This generator was lubed before the trip so I have a concern.
I use 85- 87 octane but I found I was having problems with the car dieseling on shutoff so about every other tank I used 91 and that fixed it. It could have just been a couple loads of bad gas I got and the octane or altitude may not have anything to do with at at all
No pictures tonight just to tired. We should make it home tomorrow only about 360 miles to go. Sure miss my puppies can't waite to see them.
As far as gas milage we have tracked every fillup and dollar spent on the car, as soon as get home I'll have a complete tally and post it for all to see....Good night all...More to follow....Tedd

Last two days,The Tetons, Idaho Falls, Twin falls
The tetons were fantastic and beautiful you can tell they are new mountains by their ruggedness( geological speaking of course). Some of Idaho falls.

Craters of the moon, Twin falls
Some places had no vegetation as though this event happened yesterday not 2000 years ago. And a few shots of Twin falls. The camera can't catch the height or steepness of this canyon.

Twin falls Reno brush fire and Nevada City Ca.
Twin falls pictures and on to Nevada. This was a long day and not much picture taking happened. The wind was gusting to 40 and I was trying to hold the speed somewhere around 70-75 but would be knocked sideways 5 feet and you never knew when. Gas milage went to hell on this section because of the head wind and my heavy foot....Tedd

Statistics and bucket list
The total miles traveled were 3,565
The total gas used 284.47 gals.
Total dollars spent on gas 1068.48
Mileage 12.53 MPG
Took two quarts of oil
Places that impressed me the most( and this is just me your mileage may differ) My bucket list of importance.
#1 Buffalo museum in Cody Wyoming. It would take a couple days to do it well.
#2 Probably Crazy Horse Monument. most likely because it's not Government run and It shows what can be done with private money and initiative. It's still a live and will be a ongoing work till done unlike Mount Rushmore though spectacular will never be completed.
#3 Custer's Last Stand Monument. Just so much history to absorb here. It helps to have a basic idea of what lead up to the battle other than that the battle grounds tell the story. Great place if your a history buff..
Thats it guys...I'm done. home with the dogs and my own bed. The trip was a success with little drama and I will do something like it again but not for awhile. I hope you enjoyed it as much as my wife and I did it was a gas and something I had dreamed about for quite some time. If you can make it happen do so...Tedd

Ah Tedd - I can't believe it is finished. I have looked forward to your updates every day. At least you got to take your top down for a little bit and drive in shirt sleeves.
2 quarts of oil - wow, that is good.
But wait, I am confused - how did you get home so quickly?
Could you do a hand drawn map showing your route, with markers for each day's travel? That would be cool.
