modern features from junkyard parts

Not sure if this has been discussed.

Got power locks and want keyless entry cheap? Some lat 90's cars have a self contained RKE (remote keyless entry) module. You program the fobs by grounding a wire on the module. I found one on a 00 buick for 2 or 3 bucks. It was a royal pain to get out on this car because there is a bolt from above that's nearly impossible to get to. They are supposed to be available on late 90s Monte Carlos, some Buicks, Pontiac and Olds. Features include unlock one for driver door, twice for all doors and trunk release. I think it will flash your parking lights if you want also. With some creativity you could use one of these to do other things as well. More here.

Have power windows and want one touch down on all of your windows? Ford Taurus from at least 92-95 use a module separate from the switch to do the one touch. It's behind the driver door panel. If you add this to your passenger door that window will be one touch from the passenger side as well as the driver side. Add them to rear doors if you want. More here

Only other idea I have right now is auto dimming mirror with compass and map lights. I'm pretty sure that has been discussed before. Look at Lincolns, Caddys and Sebrings.

I'll be on the lookout for door lock solenoids and trunk releases that will fit my 71.
