Miss January
Miss January
It occurred to me that by now most of you are staring at my car on your garage or office wall. (if you haven’t picked up BigJerr’s all-Olds calendar yet, what are you waiting for?) So I thought maybe I would take this opportunity to brag on Miss January a little. I hope you don’t mind.
Miss January. She’s been one of my mistresses for about 10 years now. Just look at her strut down the boulevard in that retro, code 51 Sebring Yellow coat. And what a fashion statement she makes with the ever popular White vinyl top and the never out of style Pearl White interior. Just beautiful. Sure she’s 40 years old, but hey, so is Jennifer Aniston and I’m sure most guys would still enjoy the hell out of taking her for a ride (the Cutlass, I mean!!).
Look at her measurements – 455, 4bbl, th400 and 2.56 posi! And that is completely original. Ok, well I guess her rear end is a little high, but that does allow her to cruise at high speeds all night long, if you know what I mean.

She sure wears her age well. And her body panels are all original. Nothing fake here, including her headlights. That’s right, those are real too! (T-3s).

A Cougar? No, but she is hot and she’s loaded too! She’s got just about every accessory you could get in 1970 including the speedminder speedo and the under dash Olds tissue dispenser. I’ve got a dual gate shifter for her, but that’s a minor outpatient surgery we’ll have to schedule sometime in the future.

And she’s a model too. In fact in addition to being Miss January, she modeled for RC Ertl in 2004 when they reproduced her in 1:18 scale and added her to their Elite “American Muscle” collection. A proud moment for both of us.

She’s been a joy to hang out with all these years and one of these days I’ll treat her to another new coat – maybe Astro Blue this time.
Next month I’ll be looking forward to hearing more about Miss February.

Have you ever taken her to the track? I had a 70 S post that I built a mild 455 for and I just per chance had a 2.56 posi in mine as well. I managed a 13.89 @ 97 mph shifting into 3rd going through the traps. Just something to shoot for.
Nice looking ride as well.

Nice looking ride as well.
Yery Nice, but I am very partial to the '70-72 Supremes though.
The white interiors always kind of scared me, I could just imagine working on it,doing a test drive and the seeing a nice big grease stain on the seat.

Very nice!
My calendar is in my garage.
I like that you introduced yourself as being in Jerrs calendar and told us a little about Miss January.
Personally I like the yellow/white combo, looks great! at one time I almost bought a yellow/white car, couldn't get the seller in the right price range.
I hope others in the calendar follow suit and start a thread like this

I peeked...you'll have to wait till March.
But Miss February does have a see through top!
This picture was taken at The Altamont Pass in Tracy, California, about 30 miles SE of Oakland. There is a windmill farm there with thousands of windmills in several variations. This is also where the infamous Rolling Stones concert took place in 1969 (Altamont Speedway).
...If I had Photoshop she may be sitting on my hood
I have not. She's really not that fast. I've played with the timing to the point that I could do a really nice long burnout, but there was too much pinging so I had to back it off a bit. She'll still light 'em up but I'd be surprised if she could break 15 seconds. Much more of a cruiser.
I think the calendar came out really nice and I would certainly be interested in hearing more about each of the cars in it. I suspect the other owners will oblige.
Thanks for all the great comments. I've been working with my 11 year old son recently on some creative writing he's doing for school, so I guess that just got me in the mood.

Jerry, it seems that mine was also, and a couple of them following. When I posted it, I was offended by the persons response. Even though my post was deleted, Kevins car is truly deserving to be on the calender. I have 1 from you, and appreciate the effort you put into it. wheres the really happy avatar?
Anywho, thanks to the admins, for keeping this thread clean. Kudos where they are deserved!

Good thinking Richard, no offense taken, as long as it kept the spirit of the thread. Since you deleted this part also, "Very nice car Kevin, and congrats on the calendar spread."
