Mecum's 26th Original Spring Classic

How about a little fun with " fantasy bidding "on cars we do not own , and sharing the fantasy reality. Show is May 14th - 19th in Indianapolis.
Tuesday . Lot G57 57 Olds HT 371 300HP J-2, + intake ISCA show Car 15K
Lot # G102. Really nice 66 Olds Toronado. ,, RWL tires ?? 12,500 ?
Wednesday: Lot # 186.1 70 Olds Cutlass Pace Car Convt. Sold 4 weeks ago in K.C. Mecum . 31,000 ?? W.T.F. I just can NOT understand
Lot # 248. 67 Cutlass 442 , Saffron/Blk, Orig. Unmolested,Nice int. Add on Guages ? Trunk + Engine nice. Familiar photos ? 25K.
Thursday: Lot # T11. 72 Olds Cutlass , Red/Wht/Wht. 442 tribute. Perfect car for Tpetty. Pictured with both bench and buckets. Doesn't this consignor have proof reader friends? IT GETS BETTER.
Lot # T17. Same as above , except represented as orig 350. 16.5K each
SPOILER ALERT. LOT # S35 Saturday. From the same garage photos and background. Is this the same 71 Olds 442 Convert Blk/Blk/Wht , that a very astute member sourced as Rick Hendricks personal car ? Are these Hendricks personal builders ? This one is the original one TPETTY was looking at. Maybe Chad Knaus's personal driver
Lot # T60. 69 Olds 442 455 4spd. Black. New T.A's. Frame off , so-so trunk, candy apple red eng. block ? Maybe 16.5k.
Lot # T163 70 Olds 442 Blk/Blk. Frame-Up resto , 3 yrs. ago. 4 spd. a lot of new parts. Shows well. No paperwork. Maybe 28K
All right , this is just Tues, Wed, Thurs.
Friday and Saturday should have their own thread. their are @ least 6 W-30's. on Friday alone. The 70 and 71's look IDENTICAL to the Thornton B-J fiasco Red Vert. What puzzles me most , is that the Thornton name is not used in any advertising , or description ?
HHHHHHHMMMMM , JT

What's not to understand?

Some of these cars get "bought and sold" many times before they find a long term home. Often the seller buys his own car back using a shill bidder to either raise the perceived value of the car or to avoid losing it in a no reserve sale when the bidding price won't bring his bottom dollar price.

These cars are just iron to most people in the business...
