Master Cylinder

Was wondering if someone can steer me the right way on what master cylinder to buy. I have the 72 442 with power drums on all 4 corners. will a disk brake master cylinder work, or will it create problems? have one sitting around. if anybody has part number or pic's. Thanks

Disc brake and drum brake master cylinders are incompatible. Get a power drum MC for that year.

Other members can verify or correct me, but I believe the drum brake power and non-power use the same master cylinder. This will have the same sized reservoirs for the front/rear brakes. The disc brake master cylinder will have a much larger reservoir for the front brakes.

You are correct for the car in question. Both manual and power drum brakes used the same M/C with a 1" bore. RockAuto shows about $30 for a Raybestos unit.

looks like the one on my car is for the disk/drum car. would it be a smart idea to change to the one you sent Joe P? what is the difference will I see if I put the right one on? here's a pic of the one on my car now with all drum brakes.
