Manual steering rack

I have an 84 lesabre. Right now I am not running power steering. Long story. My question is. I have been told that I have to connect the hoses on the steering rack as to not have it break. The hoses do not come off easily. so Before I do this. I am posting here. I have driven car for about a month now. Just as is.

Do I have to connect these lines together?

Or do they sell a manual steering rack I can put in the car?

Or can I leave the rack alone completely?

I know this may sound weird, but I have limited time to work on my car, and I daily drive it. and bypassing the power steering was needed to drive it. I have separate belt running the water pump

Thank you all
