Lower radiator hose adapter?

Putting a Champion radiator in my 68. Looks like i need one of the adapters to go from 1 3/4 inch hose to 1 1/2 outlet. OR does anyone know of a hose part number that would fit without an adapter?

Napa used to have them, maybe they still do. If I re-call part numbers for hose reducers 301-302 at least will get you started

NAPA Know how.

Scored at NAPA. Thanks again, this forum is awesome. I'll get the Champion part number for the radiator when I get home tonight.

Champion Radiator CC161

It's in and I needed to modify my radiator top plate as the filler neck and cap were too close.

yep 901 AND 902 I used ( not 301-302 as mentioned but was close being NAPA) I have the Champion aluminum radiator with Flex-A-Lite dual puller fans, runs nice and cool.( 150-165 but not ready for the street yet) When I have the A/C charged and put a load on the motor-start driving it in the Texas heat, should be just fine.

saddles

I should have gone that route to a 4 core early in my resto. Core support was powder coated... I didn't want to change the saddles and track down the elusive 4 core top plate. From other posts, the 3 core aluminum should provide adequate cooling as well as my new Hayden clutch fan.?

Please be careful with this part. I had my lower hose blew off twice in a different occasion. I wind up taken my radiator to a radiator shop and change the side tank for the lower hose to fit correctly. The radiator guy said the adapter doesnt have a raised lip for the hose clamp to clamp onto and this is why my lower hose keeps slipping off.

Maybe some weatherstrip adhesive??

Glue the adapter to the hose??? You do have to put the adapter on the outlet first... I put it in the hose first, pushed the adapter deep into hose. But if adhesive set well, should go right on and hold under pressure?

Seems to me that I used an '80's lower rad hose (350 or 307) Regency that has the smaller diameter end for the rad, on a '68 350.

depends on the water pump, its true 72 used a smaller ID hose but with out thinking about it i bought a 70 waterpump for my 70 motor in a 72 the result is the hose to fit the water pump is now a larger id on the rad end...had i been thinkng ahead i could have got the right length 72 pump and eliminated the adaptor
