Low mount power steering bracket

Will a bracket from a '77-'79 Trans Am 403 work on a '65 Cutlass?
Thanks Willie

The accessory brackets from the F-body Olds motors are completely different from those on any other Olds motor. The F-body installations used brackets that mounted the accessories in the same location as on the Pontiac motors. Typical Olds accessory brackets are different. More to the point, the correct 65 brackets mount the PS pump high on the driver's side. If you're purposely trying to mount it lower for other reasons (like valve cover clearance) get any 68-90 regular Olds PS pump brackets. You'll also need the smaller 68-90 pump reservoir. And of course, don't forget the two spacers between the pump bracket and the block.

Be aware that the 64-67 cars have a frame that is about 1.5" narrower than on the 68-72 cars. This is why the pump is mounted up high on the early cars. Some folks here have used the later brackets and low pump mounting on the early cars; I personally have not.
