Lots of 66 442 parts for sale

Any one looking for some parts for 1966 442 please let me know. I can tell you what I have in duplicate.

I am restoring a w-30 Holiday coupe with cold air induction, it is almost completed. I will show some pics if any one is interested, Ed

I realize this is an old post but would you have a good 66 frame. Also where are you located?

Thanks Gary

Hey Gary,
This thread is pretty new^^
However if Ed doesn't have a frame take a look at this thread: https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums...ale-trade.html
I think Jon (j_link) has a frame for sale!

Ed, I'd love to see pictures of your car! Why don't you create a thread in the major builds and projects section on this site?

There's two different 66 frames. The automatic or Pontiac unit and the V 8 straight shift A.O. Smith unit. The automatic trans Cutlass/442's used the Pontiac unit and the straight shift V 8 Cutlass/442's used the A.O.Smith unit. You can use a 67 frame under a 66 and they all used the A.O. Smith unit. The only difference is the rear upper spring mount. The 66 used an open coil spring and the 67 used the closed coil or pig tail spring. The reason for the A.O. Smith frame was strength. The easy way to tell the difference between the two units is,the Pontiac unit has a triangular shaped open tab on the front X-member. The A.O. Smith unit has a molded shaped tab that is not open.
