Looking for '74 info

Greetings:
Way back in 1977 (New Year's Eve in fact), I bought a gorgeous 1974 Cutlass Supreme from a local lot in the Bay Area. It had 29,000 miles on it, was in showroom condition and class act in every way. It was hi-gloss black with a 1/2 Landau white padded top, side opera windows, white interior with automatic trans and the basic Rocket 350

. I only had it for about 6 months but I pine for it often. I have yet to find another anywhere and believe me, I have looked. I'm beginning to think it was a one-off of some-sort, maybe an after market or factory order top and paint combo? If anyone has any info on this combination of thick 1/2 padded white Landau top, deep black paint and stark white interior, please let me know. I'd give gold t find either it or another like it. Unfortunately, this is the only semi-clear pic I have.
TIA,
Joe

The landau top and white interior were both factory-available options. All one had to do was to check the correct boxes on the order form. This page is from the 1974 dealer brochure.

You may have to consider finding one and having it painted and the white landau top installed.

Very nice example!
That is an ultimate option and I may just have to do that. I'll have to sell my '98 Deville D'Elegance, first though. :O

For whatever reason, there don't seem to be many of the 74 Supremes around.. more likely to see 73,75-6-7s. My 74 Salon is usually the only 74 Cutlass at Nationals other than a Hurst Olds or two.
My 74 Supreme has the landau vinyl top, but I'm not sure if the rust issues it has will make it a parts car sooner than later.

I wonder how many available option combinations the factory actually self produced...

In other words what is the likelihood that JoeFazs black and white combo is one of a kind or close to it...

I cant remember seeing one ever. Although it seems that Olds themselves liked the contrast going by 1975 H/Os.

Interestingly regarding this subject this TikTok picture was recommended to me recently.

That is very cool.
Of course, leave it to the Ford guy to ignore a hundred color combinations and focus on the only one that's white on white!

Yes, I've noticed that, unfortunately.
Question, what is the difference between the Supreme and the Salon?

The Salon, introduced in '73 as a 4dr, was an option package (Y78) based on the Supreme, available for'74 in 2dr or 4dr. Per the 74 Specs book, it included:
Contour reclining front seats; special interior and door panel trim; "Salon" name and flag plaques; special wheels 15"x 7"; GR78x 15" white-stripe, steel belted tires; painted wheel discs; ride and handling package; dimmer switch in turn signal lever; console D55; deluxe steering wheel. TH400 and HR78x 15" tires were required with 455 (L75).
Salon was available with full or landau vinyl top. Standard axle ratio was 2.73 (GU2), with 3.08 (GU4) available, and a 3.23 (GU5) available with L75.
Sept 20, 1973 base pricing for 2dr Supreme (J57) was $3745.60, with Salon package $361.00 additional.
March 29, 1974 increased to $3849.60, plus $365.00.
In March '74, full vinyl top (CO8) was $99.00, Landau (CB1) with special paint strip was $106.00 extra.
