Looking for 1970 W - 30 specialists .

O. K . Friday January 17th is your day at Barrett - Jackson .
3 coupes , and 1 convert .
LOT # 1040 Twilight Blue Coupe .
LOT # 1081 White W/ Gold Stripe Convert .
LOT # 1092 Red Coupe .
LOT # 1142 Azure Blue Coupe .
I direct you first to catsexotics.com . LOT # 1040 and 1142 , live there .
You can see 80 pictures , extreme detail of each .. costpenn , I think you might really enjoy the pictures . Then go to B - J site and Scottsdale 2014 car list , Friday listings . You will see all 4 cars . B - J , gives you 4 or 5 pictures of each , and you will feel less sure of LOT 1080 , and LOT 1092 .
All in all , very interesting puzzle . I believe I counted all of the Oldsmobile's in the auction , and there are approximately 25 ?
If you go to catsexotics , you will see Twilight Blue Coupe listed for 99,888.00 dollars . The Azure Blue Coupe is 84,888.00 . This dealer is bringing 15 + cars to the auction .
costpenn , stefano , lee pearl , I know I'm missing a BUNCH of you , might be interested in evaluating for the rest of us that are less experienced in these cars . I always like to guess , and see just how far OFF I am . 4 of these in 2 hours , let the games begin .
Thx , JT

I only looked at the two blue ones. The dark blue one looks overall a little nicer especially the underside. I do think that one was purchased from mecum a few years back and has been for sale since. Saw it in person and car is well done. I always find it interesting that a dealer can buy a car at a high price at auction and then try to flip it for much more at another when we all know what it sold for. To nit pic, the dark blue and azure blue have chevelle center caps and not olds. The azure blue has no trunk stripes and undercarriage looks dingy. Both trunk weatherstrips seams end perfectly centered with trunk latch. Both though seem to have decent doc's which will help. The azure blue one will have the azure blue color curse I'm afraid and should suffer in price a bit. I'll be there next month walking around with a friend of my dad's who likes to scrutinize all the 442's each year. Its always a good time.

Thanks JT for the link to these auctions. From what I saw, there are a few little things that are just baffling, like the JC Whitney floor mats on one and the black power brake booster on the other. Also, I can't tell about those wells - are they the most pristine OE's on the planet or are they the repros? Also, it looks like The Great Windsheild Washer Bottle Location debate will rage on. My 70 A/C car has the original bottle on it, and it is on the passenger side.

A couple of other guys who have been helpful to me, really know their '70 stuff and might have more to add would be Patton (70Post) and Brian (507Olds).
