Look what followed me home

Just brought this home today. A 1982 Olds 98 with 62K miles on it. Passenger door is messed up and no title. BUT the plan is to use this to restore my 1983 Master Oldsmobile hearse. This should not only give me most of the parts I need but a bunch of spares. Pretty darn good shape. The engine is very strong. Pretty happy for $600 plus Uhaul fees to get it home.

Shame it got whacked but we all need parts cars. There's a fellow near Charlotte NC who I know would be interested in some of that Ninety Eight's bits.

We will be using most of it. We need the the interior. It on;y has interior from the B pillar forward. The trim pieces, engine, trans. Body parts will be spares. About the only think we will probably get rid of would be the hubcaps and trunk lid. This is what we are restoring.

You would be amazed at how clean the trunk floor is. No rust at all. You could eat off it.

Always good to have a parts car. 👍

Do you have a way to get rid of it once you pull the parts you need since it doesn't have a title?

That looks like a bargain for $600. Are you going to part any of it out?

More pictures of the 98. The last tow pictures are of something that was hanging from the rear view mirror. I thought it was something cheap till I saw the emblem. Now the guy that had owned this was a Vet that was injured by 2 IED's in one day in combat. He died at 41 I would bet from lasting effects of those injuries. So I am keeping this as a piece of him.

The parts are mostly all going into my hearse project car. I will probably keep spares of what I don't use. There will probably be some pieces I don't need and will never use. But that won't be much. The trunk for one. I will never need that.

I would be interested in that litter container and the right kick panel if you are interested in selling.

I like the telescopic steering wheel in the 98. Don't come across those too often. Good luck with your project.

This is the exact car my buddies parents had back in high school. We use to skip school and take his Mom's car for a joy ride all day on days when she would ride to work with a friend. I always loved cruising around in that Regency Brougham. It was a smooth luxury ride for sure for mid 80's!
