I was perusing a local auction site and found this item, Rocket brand sewing needles. Look familiar?

Kinda neat...wonder if Olds paid any thing to the needle company for using the graphic idea.

OK, a quick Google search confirms that Rocket Silver Eye needles were made in Japan in the 1950s. The Olds ad is from 1949.

International copyright is a relatively new thing. Ultimately, law is backed up by force, so your law is null where you can't stomp on people who break it.
