Longer wheel studs

The 70 442 almost ready for paint so I was getting ready to install the aluminum wheels which I want to use but I discovered that the studs are not long enough to go through the wheel and leave enough threads for safe wheel attachment. The question is who makes a longer stud?? I have done a pretty good search but have not come up with anything. Thanks, Dave

Pik a nut makes many lengths. Real long racing ones are at Summit. i doubt you want those. I believe you can get 1/2" longer. You must make sure your lugnuts dont bottom out if you are using closed end ones

Heres one that is 1/4" longer than std. Mahe sure when you buy that you get only obe thatchas knurl between .472 and .475. 472 is std . 475 is recommended for replacement so they fit tight

The wheels do use a taper on the nut even though they are aluminum. Old school wheels!!

Is the taper of the aluminum wheels the same as that of your nuts?
I know someone who lost a big boat on a trailer with aluminum wheels because he used the wrong taper lugnuts.

knock one of your studs out and mic the knurled shank for sure before you buy. I am 99% sure yours will be .472 but theres always a chance that they are the larger .555 ones.

If you are using an older style aluminum wheel (such as an ET Wheel), you may need a lug nut with a 60 degree conical seat with shank...

The wheels use a std taper and no nose, The nuts are the originals and came with the wheels which I have had for almost 15 years. The holes in the wheels will not accept a nose on the nut, just large enough for the studs. Thanks for all the help, found the studs using the doorman pt#.
