Long Story from my adventure today

This is likely going to be boring but here it is any way....

Some months back I found a guy that claimed to have 100's of cars with some being Oldsmobiles and willing to sell anything he has. We talked and he informed me that most of his Oldsmobiles were buried and was going to be a long time to get them out. He needed to sell many others before he could get to them. Well, He is a fast talker and I got the feeling right away that he was full of crap.

Monday he sent me a mesage about a parts car 71 Supreme that I could come get. This morning I was at his house before daylight. As we were looking at the car he was just going on and on about all these cars he has and that he knows where many more are. We agreed on a price for the 71 and as we were loading it up I made the comment that I was into the Olds Jetfire model. He instantly said I know where one of those are just ten minutes from where we were at. By this time I knew he was full of crap. I ask him if it was the Jetfire or a Jetstar or a Starfire? He said "NO, it is a 62 Jetfire with an aluminum engine and a turbo"... By this time he had my attention because not many know what a Jetfire is, much less know it had a turbo.

He then said "you think I am full of it don't you" and I said that it was hard to believe a Jetfire was still around the area. He said lets get this 71 loaded up and I will drive you to his house.

Sure enough, he took me to a 62 Jetfire! The guy don't want to let it go but it is only a parts car.

Not sure where it will go with this Jetfire but at least this fast talker has proven himself to me two time now. He claims he has two 69 442 convertibles, 68 442, and a 71 W-30. He said I have first shot at them all as he gets them out. After I left I starting thinking that he is feeling me out with this junker before we move forward on the others. Going to be interesting...

Here is a picture of the parts car I drug home today.

To tell you the truth, I am glad to be doing something Oldsmobile at this time. It has been a crazy long summer of major over time at work. Other than a week of vacation in early June, Homecoming, and two days for a Kings Island trip I have worked every day since May. between 65 to 76 hours a week. We worked 7 hours one Sunday and it felt like a day off.

Not touched the Pace Car since i got it home other than move it from one garage to the other.

I have been after a 65 442 parts car since last November and tried to bring it home today. They were not home so I will try again tomorrow. This one is another long story but not worth sharing.

Neat story. I'll bet the story about the 65 442 is worth sharing!

Do not see many Lime green Cutlass Supremes. Hopefully the '71 W-30 is intact. Will be interesting to see what else the property owner drags out from the field.

Can I have second of anything you refuse? Don't see much of that in this area.
