Late build date on 71 Post
Nice day today and was out robbing parts from some of my parts cars. I looked at the data tag on a Lansing built 71 S post coupe I have. The build date is 07B. That is a very late date isn't it?? Curious if anyone knows when they shut down production for the 71 model year.

Yes, that's probably one of the last cars built. I've seen them from last week of June, but not into the 2nd week of July. Can you post a picture of it for references?
Is this by any chance an Arlington or Freemont car?

Thanks Dan, don't know how I missed that. Lansing was the highest volume producer of Olds A body of any of the production assembly lines and Fisher Body works.
There weren't a lot of differences in the overall 71/72 body styles, so I'm guessing that ramping up for 72 wouldn't cut much into the plant shutdown time between those years. The 1972 model we know so well wasn't supposed to exist in that body style - it was supposed to be the 'Colonade' series of bodies that came out for 1973.
