Key Olds dealer

I was out in warren the other day, I drove by the Key Olds Dealership, the A fame type dealership is still there. I took a drive by pic. It its bad quality since I was moving. Next time I’m out that way, I’ll get a better pic. I remember going there once to look at 442’s. I ended up getting a Bird, also I knew a mechanic there. He drove a 77 green 442, kinda what I was looking for when I was 18.
The main dealership building is kinda a funky, and I’m surprised it was never torn down. The only other Olds dealership I remember is Gage in Ferndale I’m not sure if it’s still there.

I grew up in that area of Warren(12 and Ryan). Walked and drove past Key Olds all the time. After I got my 70 Supreme SX in 78, I went to their parts department to find any info about the car. No one had ever seen one, and the consensus was that a previous owner must have glued the SX badges from an import on the car. LOL. The badges were bolted on. I eventually found my first SX info in a 70 CSM I found at the locale public Library.

Bill Lee Olds was on the south east side of Macomb County back then, then Moved up to the 15 and Gratiot area. There was also an Olds dealer in Troy.

The whole layout of Key was interesting, separate buildings for each department was not the normal layout. Olds only dealership until they got a Nissan franchise in the 80"s

Anyone remember these plate frames? This is an old pic from the early 80's of my second car, a '76 442. "I loved my Key Olds". I worked at Bob Saks in Farmington Hills the year Olds went under. I could have hauled out tons of dealership memorabilia, signage, manuals etc. that just got tossed......hindsights 20/20.

Cool building, I can't believe it hasn't been torn down either. It was built back when architecture had personality, now all the cookie cutter dealerships have to look the same, what a boring society we are becoming.

Oh, and regarding the bumper sticker, you gotta love it. I remember partying with Arthur P. at Jagger's in Waterford...Yay Baby! Pooba be his name.....Hah

LMK Burd, I love Pontiacs. I've had a couple over the years, a '71 Lemans hardtop and a '72 convertible. I had Joe's Industrial build the motor in the vert, it was one of the fastest street cars in Waterford at the time. Any old local Pontiac guys know of Joe for sure. Half my family worked at PMD, my oldest brother worked on the engine test. He'd dyno them, if they didn't blow up they were good to go...hah
