to jute or not to jute?

to jute or not to jute?

which works best : carpet, jute pad , AND sound deadner like Dynamat, or just carpet and Dynamat, or carpet and jute pad ?

It all depends what you expect in ride quality, how much you wish to spend, and how you intend to drive it.

I used all of the above, as my car will be used for longer trips. Cost of just the dynamat stuff was over 500 bucks.

I did new carpet with Jute and sound deadner as well. I say the quieter the better.

It is great when you travel long distances with someone or you like listening to music (and not blasting it).
Overall, the A body convertibles seem to be exhibit low wind noise with the top down, providing the ambient winds are not too wild. On a calm-wind day, they are very quiet.
Quieting the road noise through the body helps quite a bit, adding to the driving pleasure.

WOW! I didn't realize Dynamat was so expensive ! What would be a cheaper alternative ?...thanks

I used all three as well, there may be cheaper alternatives but you also do not have to cover the whole floor especially under the seats. I mentioned before not only does it limit noise, it limits vibration and even better heat, my car is so much more comfortable to drive now because of the lower temperatures

FatMat makes a rubber based foiled sound heat proofing like Dynomat. It is much cheaper and seems to be working fine for me.
