Junkyard Score Yesterday: 1971 Cutlass Parts

I ran into an old friend at the grocery store the other day and said he found an old Cutlass in a local scrap metal yard. Here's some pictures of the car and what I saved off of it. I'm going back later to get the perfect dash, front bumper, and whatever else I can grab. The yard mainly deals in scrap metal, so prices are pretty reasonable. I want to grab as much as I can before it gets shredded.

Easiest way to get that dash is to take out the harness and fuse block at the same time.

The 4 door trunk is the same as the convertible. If it's decent it's worth it to grab it too.

The trunk lid was rusted-out trash. It didn't help matters when the forklift guy "unlocked" the trunk lid for me to get the nice wheel lip mouldings and marker lights out of the trunk.

Is the windshield glass the same for 2 door, 4 door, and convertible?

3 different windshields for those three different cars you mentioned. None of them will interchange with the others.

You realize that dash is a very low production item? Only was installed on Post cars without A/C from 70-72. Unfortunately there are no stats available to document how many cars that would be, but it's relatively low. Is it Saddle or Sienna? Sienna is extremely rare to find in that shape!

If the fenders are in good shape, they fit ALL 70-72 A body Olds.

Other things ( small items but still sought after ) take the heater control *****. There is a small Allen screw to loosen off and they'll pull loose. If the radio and radio ***** are good, take them too. Kick panels with the vent pills have also been requested items.

Speedo and fuel gage if cheap can be sold for easy profit or spare parts.

AllenR,

The color is Sienna, like my '71 convertible. The fenders are rotted/bondo'ed at the bottom. I did get the original AM radio with correct *****. I also grabbed the Sienna, vented kick panels. My car does not have the vents, but my kick panels have been hacked for speakers back in the day, so I have to decide if I want vents or wait for the right pair of Sienna kick panels to come along. Hopefully I can get the whole dash out, including the gauges.

Does the car have a radiator in it? Looking for a radiator like in picture but with CF code and L,M or A date code. Codes are on passenger side tank.

I may have some sienna kick panels if you need them.
