Interiors Who has the best quality and prices

Here before long I am going to be buying all of my interior items.
My question is who has the best quality for the money, I have heard of PUI, Legendary OPGI. What have you folks experienced good results in quality and craftsmanship.

PUI and Legendary are manufacturers.

OPGI is a reseller, with a good mark up.

PUI - Decent for the price, good for daily drivers, quality and fit are good.

Legendary - Best quality and fit, higher priced of the two.

If you are considering Legendary at all, and you want your product before August, you need to order ASAP. They are a minimum of 10-12 weeks out on production AND they are training new personnel.

If you are going with Legendary (which is what i usually recommend also)- They often do sales over holiday weekends like memorial day weekend and you can get 20% off any of the products they mfg (covers, door panels, headliners).

Not 100% guaranteed they will have one over memorial day weekend, but worth waiting and watch their website to see.

its good to hear they are bringing in more staff! Though I kind of wonder if they LIKE the backlogs, as it forces people to order as soon as they decide they want the stuff. They have been like this for as long as i have dealt with them... It was a 6-7 week wait back in 2009 when I ordered the interior for my old 66.

January - April is their busiest time of year when they are the slowest at getting product out. Everything they make is made to order- its not stacked on a shelf in a warehouse somewhere for 10 years.

They start catching up again right about the end April beginning of May which is why they run that sale again on memorial day weekend... That will provide them orders until they have the NEXT sale on 4th of July weekend, then again labor day weekend, Halloween, and then the big month long Decmber/January holiday sale.

They are currently running about 7-8 weeks out. I have two customers who's orders both shipped out from NJ today, were both placed at the end of February. They are pretty consistent, but do expect them to take a while.

Sounds like 9 out of 10 Rocketeers recommend Legendary, I do have there catalog and was leaning that way but it is always best to ask the Forum.

I've personally seen amazing things come out of their shop- and I have also personally seen them take 6 months to send out 3 yards of fabric they had in stock.

A customer of mine is currently in month #6 waiting for one off 1969 Chevelle 300 door panels and seat covers that nobody else makes... He fully expect it to take a few MORE months to get them- but he was well aware of what he was in for before contacting them- frankly i'm excited to get my hands on them- but it takes a whole different level of patience to work with SMS.

I ordered my covers on Jan 20 and they arrived on my door step Mar. 23. I also ordered Door panels shortly after Feb. 14 because they were having a sale. I'm hoping to get those by the end of this month, crossing my fingers.

I ordered a bunch of stuff during their Christmas sale. I don't know how that would fit with your build schedule, but I saved a chunk of change with the holiday discount.

And... I agree I really like their stuff!

Is it better to send in your door panels so they can reuse the original metal tops or is their tops just as good?

You can order the door panel unassembled and use your original metal pieces.
I ordered mine assembled from Legendary and I believe they use metal as well.

From my experience they are slow although they have nice original stuff and good reproductions which they charge quite bit for. I ordered the exact correct vinyl for my Vista Cruiser cargo floor which they custom make and a headliner. It took over a year of nudging them to get the cargo floor.

On another occasion they were very difficult to work with, had attitude and I ended up using Original Auto Interiors instead to get my OEM seat fabrics.

I used automotiveinteriors.com for my 55' super 88. I believe Original Auto's owner retired and sold out to SMS recently.

I used PUI, their online catalog sucked but good quality products. I ended up with the right colour and material but no head rests, my deciphering error, so I left it as that. The board in the back window was for a Supreme as well. Good quality but I would call direct rather than deciphering their online catalog. The bow headliner fit nice.
