I just want to let members know that the color of the interior can be changed without spending a lot of money. I bought this product which is manufactured by SEM from Eastwood. I was also able to find it at a local paint and body supply house in town. It doesnt peel off. There is a prep that you should use with it. I was skeptical on using it,but was satisfied with the results.Take a look at the before and after, I have not done the front seats yet.First I sanded the material lightly then used the prep and sprayed 2 coats of the paint on them.

Looks real nice. I used a product once that worked well for me, not that stuff because it didn't require a prep.

 

SEMA is the Specialty Equipment Manufacturer's Association, which holds a massive aftermarket industry show in Las Vegas every year. The company that sells vinyl paints is SEM.

I've had good luck painting parts that don't flex, like dashpads. I've never found a product for high flex parts (like seats) that will last very long before flaking off. You are correct that prep is key. Most vinyl paints require a cleaner and etch product prior to painting. If the vinyl has ever seen Armor All or a similar silicone dressing, you have your work cut out for you.
