Installing front door speakers?

Hi all, I want to upgrade all speakers and install a Retrosound radio in my 76 Custom Cruiser and I want to take it to another level. The front 3,5 inch dash speakers really sound a bit thin so I will replace and the 4x10 in the back. My previous car, a 96 Impala had 4x6 inch speakers in the front doors. Looking at my front door, this would be a great fit, and the depth would be fine too. Since I do not want a cheap aftermarket look, I also found a correct matching burgundy color 4x6 speaker grill from an other vehicle.

Now here comes the trivia:
1. Guess the car in the last picture
2. Even with the color matching speaker grill, do you think I should cut up the front doors?
3. If I decide to do it, wouldn't the hardboard door rattle a bit since the speaker does not mount exactly in a metal door frame for support?

If you put an aluminum plate as a doubler in behind the door panel it will stiffen it up.

That looks like it would work well almost any speaker likes a nice big box behind it. I built a set of custom stand offs for my 65 and they sound good but I can tell I need to drill a hole in the back of the box so I can use the whole door as a speaker box to get rid of the slightly tinny sound. I used the same speakers in my Scion XB that used the whole door as a speaker box and they sound great.

I cut up the door panels and mounted speakers in my '70 Supreme back in high school, then I regretted doing it 20 years later. I didn't want to destroy the door panels on the '71, so I got a set of these kick panel speakers and they work great.
