Inside Hood Lock
#4
The latch is specific to the cars with a hood lock, so you will need to get both. The 71-72 cars had a 2-piece cable and those are not reproduced, but the single piece reproduction cable will work just fine. It is a pretty easy install and I believe everyone probably sells the same kits (made by the same company. You will need to drill holes to mount the "control lever" under the dash and a hole in the firewall for the cable to go through. If your car has power windows, seats, locks, or a power top it should have the firewall hole already. There is a large rubber gromet with multiple holes that the lock cable and power accessory feed wire runs through. If your car does not have any power options, you will need to drill the hole in the firewall. The easiest way to do that is to remove the driver inner fender well. Be sure to loosen the fuse box and get it out of the way so you do not drill into it.
