Inline Tube strikes again

I placed an order for my Jetfire build and with the track record they have of 16 orders wrong out of 17 total orders since 2013 I figured this one would be also. Well the order come in today and before I opened the box my wife said is that the company that always screws up the orders? I laughed and said yes it is and that I expect this to be also. I opened it up and sure enough, wrong parts! So now I am at a total of 17 orders wrong out of 18 in 7 years. They sent me wrong fuel lines and brake lines. I ordered them by part number and not the model of the car. Many times places will confuse Jetfire with Jetstar so to avoid the problem I used the part number. When they asked the model I even said f-85 to help avoid the problem. I am not sure if the parts I got are for Jetstar or not but they sure are not for my Jetfire. I can not understand how a company can make this many mistakes and keep going. If I have 17 out of 18 orders wrong I am sure everyone else is having the same problem.

To their credit, I called them and they had me send them pictures and I feel sure they will fix it but why can they not get it right the first time? At this point they can not use the "hard to get good help these days" line because this is no longer a help problem. This is a company problem to be this consistent and even enough so that my wife can tell.

I am not really upset, just a reminder that you need to check your Inline Tube orders as soon as they come in. If you wait a week or two they will tell you they will not do anything about it. Been there done that already on a former order.

Have they paid for all the additional shipping these wrong orders are causing?
I've only had a few mail orders from them and all was good.
If they have anything I need I usually try to get it when I see them at the Chicago car show.

So far, every time the tell me to keep the wrong parts and just mail me out the correct ones. That is on the orders I knew were wrong on time. The others that I waited to long they told me to pound sand. I never made that mistake again. I check them they day I get them.

They are the only ones making the 61-63 lines. I was going to have them make the special passenger front Jetfire only line but they stopped the custom department. I sent a line to The Right Stuff and they made them for me. I may have to have them make the rest of the lines for the Jetfire but I don't have all of them in a good enough condition to send.

Glad I didn't have to say that first, but it's true.

Chris Witt, rest his soul, was going to have a knock-down, drag-out with Kryta at Norwalk one year, but I think Kryta didn't show.

When I first had problems with purchases nearly 20 years ago I suspected the problems came from the top. The only thing that made me doubt that was the potential profit they give up on all those mistakes--why would businessmen give away money?

Perhaps I answered my own question.

If I have time, I still buy from them because, after the initial confusion, they always ship correct parts (or give a refund when parts are hopeless).

Their Parts are very nice, it's just getting the ones you actually ordered for your specific car that is the hard part.
They always sent the correct parts after letting them know they screwed,up I have quite a few parts that they told me to just keep.
I ordered a complete Duel Exhaust system then had to contact them several times to get them to send out all of the included parts that
were supposed to be in the set (one piece at a time).
Very time consuming, Still I keep going back

the guys who go on the road are great and are very helpful but yes I have had wrong parts delivered as well. I learned the hard way too - open right away. The hard part is sometimes I plan on working on my car, get a part, inspect it and then winter comes and in the spring I'm like "Doh, doesn't fit" or it looked right but was wrong.

Lack of a Quality department, Return of Experience awareness (REX) and continuous improvement exercises will cause repeat offenses until its fixed.
Time to send all employees to training or tune-up the ordering system matrix!

Not willing to invest in these very basics business processes....Then we all simply find another supplier to provide us with these parts, right the first time, RTFT and OTIF, On-time in full.
Send them a note something similar to this and see if it wakes them up. Also, state that you're part of a large car online community and will spread the word. If they like dollars they may wake up. Hit em in the wallet...it always wakes up someone.
Hey, you may get some free sheet out of it at min?

Strong negative about their business practices. They won't get any of my business or any more of my parts.

had good luck with them, but still prefer Fusick over all of them...

I ran a warehouse for a publishing company for nearly 20 yrs. Shipped on average about 80,000 packages a yr. . When I first took over, we had a high percentage of incorrect shipments. Our products served the Insurance industry, and some of these items were required for state / federal testing for licenses. Anyway, one day a shipping clerk was walking past my office, and suddenly let out a "G..D..MIT". Those bastards!
I said...Whats wrong?
He said the people at the drive thru gave me the wrong food!
My comeback was....Guess what, that's how our customers feel when we ship them the wrong books / test material.
His next words were ....I never thought of it that way.

Well, our mistakes came way down after that, and I used that analogy for any incoming employee as a way of getting them to understand one thing....ship it right the first time!

I know its off topic, but maybe someone at ILT needs to have a bad experience at the drive thru!

The owners of ILT have been told to their faces that either their parts are incorrect or orders are filled incorrectly, and they become bilergerant, and threaten to sick their lawyers on customers who complain.

I have heard that from several people. Never experienced it myself but I am not the type to really get in their business. Just willing to give reviews negative or positive. I do disagree with many about their parts. Some of their parts are the best I can find and others, not so much. They are a little hit and miss. As for their lines and exhaust, As long as I get the ones I ordered, I have been really happy with them. I refuse to do exhaust work but their exhaust for my W-30 fit so good I was able to do it myself. First time that has ever happened for me.

I despise them on many levels, much more than just getting the wrong or ill fitting parts.
Yea I won't knowingly sell them anything or purchase.
I know folks that are on the bad boy list and they won't sell to certain people.
Karma will get them in the end.

WHY are you doing business with them? You've been screwed 17 out of 18 times. I'd have quit at 3.

At some point, you'll buy a tube bender or three, a decent flaring tool, some coils or sticks of tubing, and a bag of flare nuts.

They make it right as long as you point it out right away. I don't need a bender to make my own lines. I bend copper for a living and quite good at it by now without a bender. I just have no desire to do it myself at home after work when I can make a call. Sadly, I have to call two or three times before it is right.

I've only ordered from them recently (several times over the past year or two) and my parts have always been correct. But then again, it should be a challenge to mess up on 71-72 Cutlass parts. I agree on checking everything though right after delivery. I'm sure the moment I don't think about it I'll get the wrong part and be out of luck by the time I realize. I recently purchased a built in microwave that came damaged on arrival, unfortunately, I got busy that week and by the time I realized it was damaged I was out of the 48 hour return window and out of luck.

The vast majority of my past orders were 70-72.

And it keeps going... I just got an email notification that the correct brake lines have been shipped but did not say anything about the fuel lines. I decided to call and ask. Turns out that he goofed up and forgot about the fuel lines. I told him I had sent pictures and a description of the differences. He just said sorry and it was his fault. He is getting me the correct fuel lines shipped out now. So not only are they eating the wrong lines shipped, they are also eating two more shipping charges to me, lol

Like I said before, they make it right but you would think they could do it the first time and especially the second time. I am willing to bet they send me the wrong "size" fuel lines now. We will see.

I wonder how much money they screw people out of with their 48 hour return limit. Many, many car crafters dont open packages right away. There is a serious issue with this company.

Wow, I'd hate to think what would happen if you were in an actual hurry to get a part and were relying on them. That's terrible.

Yeah, many years ago (in the 2000's, I believe) I ordered a fuel line from the fuel pump to the Quadrajet and when I rec'd it... it looked very nice. When I went to install it on my 455 it wouldn't connect to both and was very much off! I called and talked to a guy and he was a little cocky and said it was made from original parts and specs. Well, I called my little brother and he came over with a fuel line bender and messed with it for a half hour or so and it then fit like it should have in the first place. My brother used to work for GE making and repairing lines for jet engines and he knows his angles so all was good except for my only experience with Inline Tubing and my initial opinion of their customer service. I have never thought about ordering from them again.

We did have some flood warnings here. But mostly in a town about 20 miles from us. We are all good. I need to give you a call sometime. We have to catch up some.

Sounds good, I have a full plate right now taking care of my wife. Not much time through the week but weekend days I usually have time. She has had a major surgery and has a really long road of recovery. Been the hardest few weeks of our lives but we are getting through it. The worst is over but still several months away from things being normal.

Wow, I'm sure she (and you) will get through it all fine and the kids will pitch in some too. You guys are good people and it always stinks to hear about anything going wrong. Hang in there. Good weather is just around the corner and things will start to look up. By the way...I saw a mystery Olds down the road in a barn under a cover that was torn after a storm we had. Remind me to tell you about that.

Right Stuff Detailing and Fusick have everything Ive needed, Right Stuff even bent me custom 1/2" fuel lines. All orders were correct the first time, and I didnt have to deal with obnoxipous owners on the phone. Just a suggestion if you want an alternative.

I have had them do some stuff for me. I may end up sending them my fuel lines and brake lines to see if they want to copy them. They do not offer them for the 61-63

X2 twintracks, I was one and done years ago when I started putting the 67 442 resto-mod (clone) together and didn't even bother on my F-85...project.

Thanks. I use Fusick for almost everything as they are only 25 mins. from my house. Kevin and Mike are awesome to work with.
