I have an Olds 455 (468 after boring 60 over) in my 1964 Chevy C10. I would like to some how "advertise" or represent my Olds engine on my C10, but I'm not sure what to do. Is there some type of emblem you'd recommend to place under the C10 emblem? Or?
I'm not wanting something gaudy but maybe something that would pique one's interest.
Currently my pickup is white, but once I weld in the last couple of patch panels it will be painted matte gray/charcoal.
I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm not a fan of putting an Olds motor in a Chevrolet, just like I'm not a fan of the reverse.
If it has to be done, I'd rebadge the truck as a GMC and put a Powered By Olds underneath it.
My 81 GMC was originally 350 Olds diesel powered, now it’s 455 Olds powered.
Unfortunately, GM started cross breeding in the late 70s. And engine swaps have been around since the hot rod hobby started. My problem is people who try to “fix” their Olds powered car by swapping in brand “X” engine because there cheaper. I remind them of all the money they will save once they buy a transmission, radiator, exhaust, wiring, accessory brackets, and all the other nickel and dime things that won’t interchange. Cheaper indeed!

It can be done very cheap, people came up with ideas to use existing parts with LS swaps. You don't need a transmission, although having a 4l80E is nice. To do it right it might not be cheaper but LS is far more reliable platform to build. If I had known what I know now, I would've done a LS swap years ago, add a single turbo and be in 700RWHP without worrying when will my block fall apart.
