I used to have a clean basement

Then I bought a Cutlass, now it’s getting filled up. This hobby seems to breed clutter.

It's best if it's like that, because then if you trip on something there's not enough room to fall and hit your head on the floor!

A partial solution is not to spread it out, but to stack it up......

Getting quotes on a 24x32 garage. That should help.

I would recommend a 12 foot ceiling height if your zoning permits...

Its going to be on a steep hill, looking at a 10 ft rear bock walk, it will look too high as it is. But pricing a 16x24 single door garage at the rear bottom as well. The foundation will be extremely costly. Might just move to a house with more garages if the quotes are too high.

That is not clutter. That is reduced time travelling here and there to buy stuff. If you are going 12 foot ceiling, think hoist. If you know what is in each box, then put a number on it and then write that on a chart with a description of secret stuff inside each numbered box. A close friend showed me that.

Well it's not just the car hobby !! ask the people here that are involved with wood working, not only do the tools take up space, the surplus wood takes up space and you need room to work !! but thank god for hobbies if it wasn't for hobbies we would have to spend more time in conversation with the wives about things like the crowded grocery stores and what happened on General Hospital !! sorry honey got to go clean
up the mess in the garage from my hobby!!

Imagine the clutter from one car MULTIPLIED BY 4! The more cars you have, the more stuff they have.
