may need a little welding but most of it is there. but first I think I need to clean out my shop.

but seriously this is a property here in N. GA. near where I live. the guy who owned it collected stuff for 40 or 50 years and would never let any one on the property. he died last year and the family is selling everything off. most of the cars are 40's, 50's and 60's. at the start there was around 500 cars and trucks. most are so rotted now that there is little to save.

these pictures represent less than 5% of what we saw. every time you turned a corner or walked through some trees there were more.

it is about 20 miles from my house here in north Georgia. the propery is on hwy 115 between cleveland, GA and clarksville, GA. I have seen the stuff you see by the road for years (a buddy has lived here 32 years and it looked like that the whole time) but no one was allowed near the property. the house you see in that one picture is abandoned, I didnt go in it as it is about to collapse. back in the property is a pretty nice house. the whole place is a little over 100 acres. this place is hoarders gone wild. I did actually walk through the shop. I was walking on parts that were 1 1/2 feet deep on the floor.

There's a yard like that up my way, too.

All Northern cars, of course, so all thoroughly rusted before they were dropped in there to sink into the mud. Trees have grown up, so you couldn't fit a machine in to move or lift any cars - everything underneath is rusted through or inaccessible.

All valuable engine parts have been stripped long ago, and all interior parts are weathered.

No water supply, so no possibility of using a torch or a cutting wheel because of the fire risk in the middle of the woods.

It's still in operation, but is a better place for going to see the sights than for getting parts.

There's another one just west of Dawsonville. The father died, the sons [who own a business on Ga 53 @ Ga 400 right behind Ingles] are selling everything. They have school buses [several of them] parked in the woods full of carbs. I bought a 69 Cutlass hood from them.

Anyone need a Corvair Van?

Go south on Ga 400 turn Right on 53, go behind Ingles an it's in a old school. Sorry, I can't remeber the name of it but the sell Torque converters. They must have 200,000 used one's in the building. One of the brothers will take you over to the other side of Dawsonville and spend the day with ya.

WEAR your snake boots.

It's acres and acres of stuff.

hint, There's a sister involved in the estate so everything is devided 3 ways. NEVER make them an offer that ends up with one share= 666.

Is the place you posted pics from north or south of Hollywood. I go up dat way all the time to Lake Burton.

It's a shame all those car were left to rot. I hear/see that often. Some guy collects car, lets them sit/rot cause " I am going to restore it", "no it's not for sale" Guy passes on then the family has to clean up the mess. Everything ends scrapped. So what was the point? To see how big of a mess you could make for someone else to deal with. Iam sure the EPA is going to make someone clean it up. It's not going to be cheap.

thanks Jamesbo, I am going to try and run over there tomorrow and see if they have any thing I cant live without. the place these pictures are from is on 115 south of 105 so it is south-southwest of holleywood. if you are on 115 you cant miss it. the road you see in some of the pictures is 115.
Mike, thats the problem here. he kept all this stuff for ever and now the family needs to clean it up. they are going in with a dozer cutting roads just to get to some of it. only a handfull of cars are even salvageable. there is a 70 roadrunner with an air grabber hood but they did not want to sell it (of course). there are lots of family members involved (or at least with their hand out). they have been working on it since october and they have barely scratched the surface. I do feel better about all the stuff I have after walking around there. I am not as bad a hoarder as I thought. LOL.

Sacred auto (n truck) parking grounds. Tread with respect! Farmers used to park there old cars, trucks, and tractors in the back field. They would not sell them either!

What a waste! I bet most of them were fixable when they went there. There is probably still a few fixable in there if you were motivated but most of the stuff looks ruined.

Let that be a lesson to me! STOP dragging stuff home. LOL
Would be fun to see.

Tons of trim to be had, have to wonder what else?
Reminds me of Jerome AZ. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...ghlight=jerome

This guy in AZ actually restores stuff.
