I got another one
The sheet metal on that one looks pretty good, so don't think I'd be scrapping it. Believe Toro's have special low profile intake manifolds, and probably best leaving things all together. Recall when Toro's came out. Was with my grand father in a church parking lot, and were both wraping on one with our knuckles, thinking it was fiberglass. Turns out the owner was still in the car, and was Barney Allis, VP of Motown records. He was pretty cool about it, as actually knew his son in school.
Dang. It's the twin to mine color-wise.
Looks like dual exhaust poking out under the bumper. R, look on the transmission code plate and tell me what's on there. Depending on that, it would be better to save this car than to part it out.

Never had a 69', but bought an 87' Toro new, and was pretty stylin'. Black Cherry w/Silver lower. Had it for about 5 years, and was getting windshield notes in the local market parking lot from people wanting to buy it, so did.
I decided i had to keep it, but dad says i can only have two cars at the house so it looks like im getting rid of the delta custom, unless i can find a place to store it. I cant see keeping the delta over the toronado because the delta needs way more work. Anyways here are a few more pictures of the toronado.

. The interior of the Toro looks great! Even has the factory 8 track! Can't say I like the look of that dumb tractor tire wheel cover though.Highwayman, you and I need to talk to the Dad. Must not be a car fan.....
Looks to me like there's no real shortage of space in that yard

.My dad is where i got the car thing from, in our side yard we have my dads enclosed car trailer, his toyota hilux, and my toronado. in the garage is his 65 nova and my cutlass. in the driveway is his s-10 and my moms car then we have my delta and my dads suburban parked on the side of the street. We actually do have the room to keep them all but my dad says he doesnt want me to have a car at the house that cant move. And he is kicking the cutlass out of the garage this summer so he can bring his el camino home
That is the yard of a house thats for sale in my neighborhood, not mine
.

Well darn! OK, I have a plan.

First thing, that enclosed car trailer is an empty garage bay. Park a car in it.
Next, how is it in a fleet of GM cars there's a Toyota in the mix?
Does your dad haul fresh manure in the spring for the lawn? Tell him the little kids in the neighborhood are laughing behind his back and shame him into getting rid of it. Finally, when you get one of the Olds done, your mom will fall in love with it and you can sell her car.
Now you've opened up 3 spots. The Delta and the Suburban can get moved off the street and the third spot can go for the El Camino.
You wouldn't have enjoyed shoe horning a 455 into that little 62 anyway. You would have had to cut out and re shape the trans hump. Either that, or bash the oil pan in, which isn't a good idea, And have to bash the trans hump some.
Stay away from swaps in that thing.

It is actuated by pressing on roughly ⅛" wide rubber membrane that runs around the entire inner surface of the wheel.
I've never seen one that worked - either they don't do anything or they just start blowing all the time, which really blows (hence the name, I suppose...).
I think they only made them for two years before realizing the error of their ways (could be wrong about that).

Found a really cool video that shows how to replace/repair them. (it's for Cougars - the car, not the ol babes - but it's prolly the same for all). Didn't know they made kits for them http://www.cougarpartscatalog.com/70rimbloresto.html

Heh. Wait till you see one wrap past 130 and back up to about 10 mph. The car squats in the road and goes, but god help slowing it down. Toronados have a whole lot more go than they have stop, even with disc brakes.
AGREED! This Olds should of had four wheel disc brakes from day one!
I forgot about this thread, the distributor loosened up and some teeth got eaten off of the cam and distributor. I ended up pulling the engine for the cutlass like originally planned and sold the car for $100 more than i paid for it. The toronado was a short lived daily driver, only had the car 2 months and it was falling aprt from day one.
