What's a damn shame is having to redo a new Hurst shifter after the prices they get for them. I know Hurst offers a rebuilding service or did for their shifters and was supposed to be guaranteed for life. I would never send a shifter to Hurst for a rebuild. I talked to a guy who worked for Hurst back when they were still in Nevada. He told me that Hurst moving the rebuilding back to Ohio and they were not keeping any of the experienced help. He said they sent one guy out to learn the rebuild service for one week and all he was interested in was the Hurst aftermarket units and didn't care one bit about the OEM units. That's why if you ever need service on a Hurst shifter use one of the specialist rebuilders like Dennis Maroudas. dba DME. 606-237-6648

I did my own, too, but not to that level. The shifter in the video must be from China.

Funny you say that. I just spent a day a half trying to get a Hurst dual gate in an 89 IROC. Granted, it was bought off evilbay since it's been discontinued and missing a few parts, but the fit and finish were horrible. It was definitely not the Hurst quality of old.
