Meh ...

Always forget about some older vs later wheel covers working.

I will say this ...

I also had 70 D88 sedan years ago (sorry no decent pix).

I absolutely DESPISED the standard 1970 wheel covers.

I was able to use a 77-79 full size wheel cover on there with no issue.

Oddly enough another wheel cover I despise is the one you wanted to use.

IMHO they look a helluva lot better on a PC screen or in a brochure than they do in the flesh.

I still say go RWL if that's what you want.

There are still other wheel cover choices if you should need them.

figures, huh.
I will let you know when I see em in the flesh. They should arrive in the next few days. if they even fit. Just good useful knowledge for me now so when it gets time to make a decision on my wheels I will be prepared. Heck if they don't fit or I don't like them I will just put them on ebay and try to recoup some cash back.. cooper cobras ? any luck with them ?

That looks awesome! What do you mean by Chevy police wheels?

Raised white letter tires seems to be popular with a certain age group, which is born before the early 70s. After that, it seems they all like black walled tires. Also, before that, the even older crowd likes the white wall tires. I'm part of the group that loves raised white letter tires, but sadly most after my age group do not.

The all black wheels looks ridiculous. I like to have a rim in chrome or white or silver to offset the black of the tire. Too much black makes the wheels look very plain.

I am certainly of the age of the raised white lettering era, born before the 70's. "Firestone" and "Goodyear" were the "in" tires.
On the flip side I received my first hubcap that I had found online, the 75-77 cutlass cap I intend to put on my 69 delta. Wow, it sure is made from a lighter material than the original 69 hubcap, following suit of the decline of the American car as far as quality of the product they put out at that time.

They are 15" by 7" heavy duty steel wheels that were part of the 1994 to 96 Chevy Caprice 9C1 police car package, they have a 5" bolt circle and fit perfectly on the big Olds cars.

Sorry for the late addition to this topic, but I believe some of you guys might benefit from this.

The Goodyear Steelgard GR70-15 white stripe is now being reproduced. The stripe is approximately 3/4" wide. GR70-15 equates to a 225/70-15.. 27.85" inflated diameter.

I am happy to help with any of your Goodyear reproduction tire questions.

Rusty

What about a red stripe or a good way to color the white red?
