How to score a '65 442 -cheap!
Well, there's this guy who owns a scrap yard where there's a 65 442 sitting.
Problem is, he's VERY touchy when it comes to people picking parts.
The 65 is wasted overall but it's got some real nice parts, deluxe wood
steering wheel, console, buckets, nice door panels, trim - plus other stuff
I actually need.
So, the idea is to give him a framed picture that I took of one of his cars.
He's sentimental about his yard and the cars in it.
Whaddya think!?
(wish me luck)
The print is about 15x13" without frame.

It's not about money with this guy.
(although he does appreciate it!)
He's weird. It took me about 5 years of seeing this guy at
car shows, running into him and talking with him...very,
very respectfully before he even let me walk around his property.
-We used to sneak in as kids to marvel at it all.

I've given him 2 scrapped vehicles for free(my old '70 and a '71 Vista).
He knows and likes my '70 and now when I see him he lets me walk
around when I like.
He's just a touchy guy who hates to talk money. I was thinking about
just saying I bought a rough '65 and tell him I'll give him $500 to
pick it clean.
-BTW there's picts of the '65 on that link

There are lots of use able items on that '65, I hope you can get them. That picture labeled "hubcaps" looks to be a mid forties two door but not an Olds, I bet those bumpers would fit my '46 . That '37 looks to be in fairly good shape and that red panel truck is a custom waiting to happen.
