there should be a little clip on the underside of the arm, it secures the wiper arm to the gear. all you need is a flat head screwdriver to just bend the clip back a little while you pull up on the arm to get it off the gear. if they havn't come off in a while, they might be stuck on from rust or oxidation, so you may need to tap it with a rubber mallet to break it loose, or just keep wiggling it until it pops off. but the procedure is just bend the clip back and pull them off.

Don't use a screwdriver and hammer - bad advice.

KD makes a neat little tool that pops them off easily, with no damage.

good point....i usually put a rag on the car itself to protect the paint, and i didn't say use a hammer, i said a rubber mallot. very different, and obviously you don't have to slam it hard, just enough to break it loose. i've never damaged the wiper arms or the paint by using a screwdriver.

why waste money on yet another tool, when you can use the ones you already have?? u can do what you want, i'm just saying all you need to get them off is a screwdriver, u don't NEED any special tools.
