How off is NADAguides?
So, I was noticing on NADAguides that my car is apparently only worth $7900 in mint condition. Given that it's a Cutlass S, okay...but apparently a 1977 Cutlass with a 260 is worth 15,500?!?!? I don't even...
Is this accurate, or is NADAguides full of crap?

Basically the car is worth what someone is willing to write a check for!! NADA is just that a guide! It's 3 month old info thats 1 month old!! Apparently there have not been many sold on what ever they go by to make a determination!
Nada for your car in average condition is $10-11k with air and a 350! In restored condition its says its worth $16-17. Good luck with that price though!

All of these pricing guide books are based on auction sales and other published sale prices. Here's a reality check: how many of these cars actually change hands at published sale prices? Do you really think that there are data points for EVERY listing in these books? Of course not. There MIGHT be a handful of various Oldsmobile sales for which current data is available. This data is then extrapolated to different years and equipment based on some formula. I suspect that they take the easy way out and just scale the Chevy data - for which there probably IS a statistically valid sample size.
