How do people ship fenders
I am trying to get a set of fenders shipped to MA. The cheapest I found was Fasternal. They are willing to strap them to a pallet but what is the best way to protect them - it is impossible to find two boxes this size. Do you think bubblewrap would do the trick?
I had 2 sets of fenders shipped to me. One from midwest the other from AZ. They both wrapped them up in heavy cardboard and shipped them thru Greyhound. Very cheap that way. Received them with no damage.
shipping fenders
I've shipped a pair of fenders by greyhound from mass to Illinois,i crated them with 1x3 strapping and deck screws, arrived unharmed.put braces from side to side thru wheel opening and bolted the fender with it's mounting points to 2x4s
I've shipped using both Greyhound and Fastenal. You don't have to put them on a pallet for Fastenal. You can wrap them in cardboard just like you do for Greyhound. My experience is Fastenal is generally cheaper & easier than bringing them to a bus terminal (I also have a Fastenal dealer a lot closer). I shipped rims on a pallet, 350 lbs of an automobile A/C system in a pallet box, and a bumper wrapped in cardboard with Fastenal. No problems with any of them.
